About Moriah

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.

Maya Angelou

A passionate mother, educator, grief coach and author, Moriah Friend is dedicated to using her own life experiences to ignite positive change amongst hurting women, children and families so they can once again feel whole and live their best lives – no matter what they’ve experienced.

After suffering through the sudden death of her husband, Moriah is a firm believer in finding the balance in life, even amidst a crisis. While there’s no such thing as perfect, she is an advocate for helping others discover the positives which are often found deep within the negatives. That’s the testament behind her book, “Good Grief: The Journey to Life After Death for Families”. By opening up about her process for dealing with such an unexpected tragedy while simultaneously harnessing the strength to handle the twists, turns and roadblocks that come with raising three active children on her own.

Moriah is on a mission to help others acknowledge that life is just one big juggling act and instilling in them the tools to manage their grace, time and space on their own terms. Through her work as a grief coach, Moriah uses her teachings from her book to the next level as she artfully bridges the gap between her extensive child development background and trauma awareness. Moriah uses her passion for trauma awareness to offer a positive and calming space for others to find freedom and healing as they journey alongside her. At the end of the day, she wants others to know that life’s greatest joys are still attainable, even through the toughest of times and that it takes a little intention, focus and courage to make this happen.

Moriah is also an accomplished guest speaker and panelist and has shared her personal story and words of encouragement at a number of conferences to date. Additionally, Moriah has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Administration and a Master of Education. She also holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with an emphasis on Crisis Response and Trauma and is a Licensed and Certified Grief Coach.
